Falling Forward; One Step At A Time

On my last birthday, my daughter and I were laughing at my jokes about getting older.  She said, “Mom, look at it this way, you are that much wiser.” I thought for a second and said without skipping a beat, “here’s what I know and continue to learn as I get older. “ I know that I really don’t know”.  She stopped, and asked, “What do you mean?”

Do you my friends know what I mean? Life is complex. In its complexity, life has simple moments: which are refreshing and honestly glorious; however trying to figure out the whys can overtake the heart and mind if you allow them to. So what do we do with these complexities?; the fears, the stagnant feelings of life going by, relationships going awry, jobs that don’t light us up anymore, and life seasons changing.  I’m sure each of you can easily add to this list.

So, tonight is December 31, 2017.  I promised myself that tonight would be the night that I would follow through and begin this blog. As you can see the title of this blog is Falling Forward, One Step at a Time.

And that is my life; falling forward, one step at a time. On September 29th of this year, I left my home of 20 years and road tripped across the country to my new home in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Almost each new person I meet has one question for me, why would make such a move? And this is where the blog begins.

The adventure! Are you in need of a life adventure?  Do you need hope, courage, a kick in the ….? I am writing this blog to share and encourage.  It is my hope that it will be interactive with all of you sharing too; that together we can learn and encourage each other.

So for 2017, I will leave you with my three wishes for you:

Live in the moment.  Worry and fear do not deserve your energy and time.

Live brave.  Say and do the things that you can’t get off your mind.

Live boldly.  Make an action plan and dream big.

         Happy New Year
